She set down her lipstick and looked into the mirror. She knew why Henry hadn’t come with her, financially it made sense, and there was work. He was very committed to his work. But she knew how things could go sour for people at a moments notice. Even Piper and Leo had their bad times.
It was starting to feel like a big joke by the elders. They’d done so much to upset them over the years hadn’t they? She had left her husband and her job to be with her family and her charges, and in the past couple days she hadn’t gotten even an inkling that there was someone out there who needed her help.
“Buck up kiddo,” she said to her own reflection, “put on your happy face and play nice with your niece.” And with that she wiped the concern off her face and pasted on a large healthy smile.
One shiny little light show later she found herself in what appeared to be a recently decorated house. Peighton must not have moved in here long ago.
“Peighton?”
